Festa Italiana, Shopping and Acting Like Kids

It has been quite the busy summer here and I have had no time to blog! =) With that said, I will do my best with summing up what we've been up to the past few weeks.

Festa Italiana!

A few weeks ago we had 16 of our friends visit us in Portland to celebrate Festa Italiana and we had such a blast. We spent the evenings downtown enjoying food from local Italian restaurants. They also had music, dancing, and not to forget, vino (a lot of it)! Since the weather was soo gorgeous we also spent a day poolside BBQing and soaking up the sun at The Pilot's parent's house, which they so graciously let us use. I absolutely love getting together with this group of people, there is never a dull moment!

Shopping!

There has also been A LOT of shopping going on this summer for both home goods and wardrobe goods. Here are a few of my favorite buys....

New coat hanger, umbrella holder and fall leaves.
I would say we are ready for that Portland rain.

New boots from H&M (only $60) and my new black heels are from Nordstrom.

Exploring Portland and Acting Like Kids...

And lastly, The Pilot and I managed to squeeze in some fun time on our own.... See below =)

Road trip to the Oregon coast - Seaside, Or.

Having way too much fun at the arcade!

"Big Pink" building is where I'll soon be working.
Props to The Pilot for the creative photo.

Hope you all are doing great! Until next time...

Birthdays, Cake Pops and a Downtown Garden

I know, I know... I'm a slacker at blogging, but I'm back now and want to share what I've been up to the past two weeks. Here it goes!

Two weeks ago my girlfriends and I celebrated our very smart and beautiful friend, Dana, as she turned 28. We spent the day pool-side at Dana's condo chowin' down on some great Trader Joe appetizers while sipping on Skinny Girl Margaritas. We also got to enjoy some cake pops that my mom and I made the night before - Which were so easy to make and pretty darn scrumptious!

The birthday girl with her cake pops.

That day I also had the pleasure of meeting sweet little, (I want to eat your cute little feet) Ryland, for the first time. For those of you who don't know, my dear friend Kylie recently had her first baby (on my birthday!) this past year. It is so crazy to think that my friends and I are at that stage in our lives to start families - but I must say, Mrs. Kylie makes it look easy!

The lil' cutie and I.

Ryland and the ladies going for a dip! He is such a stud.

Had such a blast catching up with the gals!
---------------

This past weekend I headed up to Portland and had a very productive weekend with The Pilot. We shopped, cleaned, picked up new potted flowers for the deck and somehow managed to have a relaxing afternoon at the pool.

Since we moved into our new place I've been insisting that we get flowers for our deck to "warm" the area up.....and so we did. Here are some pictures of our new "downtown garden".

And the finished products!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Into the Wild

This past weekend The Pilot and I took a step into the "wild" and hiked Eagle Creek Trail and it was absolutely breathtaking! There were trees for miles, flowers, birds, deer and not to mention a gorgeous waterfall at the end of the hike. I've always loved the idea of getting out of the city and stepping into the backwoods to get away from it all. Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

Stretch of trail only wide enough for two people - with a cable railing just in case!

 Don't mind the cliff drop!

It's amazing that it's all just a 45 minute drive from downtown Portland.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I will be looking forward to a pool party for this little lady's birthday!

Settling In

This past weekend was our first full weekend together enjoying our new apartment. While I spent all last week working in San Fran, The Pilot worked his butt off to get everything put away and set up so by the time I flew in Friday night the apartment looked perfect.

Here are some photos of the apartment.

The couches and ottomine are from The Pilot's family's furniture shop....Best couches around!

Since we felt pretty settled in we decided to have our first guests over this weekend. Our friends Jacob, Erin and their little cutie Nolan came by Saturday evening and we all enjoyed some good food and local brew out on the deck. All in all, I'd say it was the perfect summer evening and I can't wait to have many more just like it! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!
